“Rural life has an influence on my artwork, not only in the subject matter, but in the use of light. Far from the city's glow, both dawn and dusk linger. I can appreciate the subtle colors of each, and notice the slow creation of silhouettes. Country darkness allows me to truly see the contrasting qualities in natural versus artificial light.”
