Living in the Ozarks means curvy roads that drop in and out of the mountains. Many of my pastels chronicle the driving experience, and lean into the next interesting curve. For night pastels, I use focused light sources to layer warm light, giving high contrast and a wave of color. The landscapes are about lighting and contrast, and often feature a sky full of tints, and moments where the mountains and trees begin to darken into a silhouette.
